hitchhiking to hell and back

i spent today in my room.
curtains drawn, door closed, heaped blankets, crushed pillows, empty diet coke cans.
me
with my stupid untamed hair, crumpled pajamas, and only four painted toenails.
singing along with Tom Petty, the postal service, and Pat Benatar about gunslingers, Clark Gable, and Lipstick Lies,
the only company in a lonely box.
Sara's at disneyland with her other friends.
I called Person1 wanting to talk, because i need to talk.
when Person1 answered I froze and lied and sang the "I'm bored" song instead of the smash hit "Hey, I need a little help here" song.
Its too hard to say exactly what i mean.
its hard even to give a rough picture of whats going on,
and everyone knows i suck at drawing.
i can doodle and crosshatch, make jokes and funny faces, but when it comes down to it,
i just can't take it seriously, realisticlly.
maybe i just can't deal with reality.


tomorrow i'm going to mammoth for a week.
i love how my family tells me important things i need to know,
like when we're leaving town, or even if we're leaving town.
i guess a "By the way, we're going skiing in the middle of June, bring a sweater" is too much for them.
and yes, the slopes are still open,
whether there is snow on the ground, is a different story completely.
Guess what my least faveorite sport of all time is?
3 guesses, and its not chess, golf, or backgammon.

and after hell on skii's, i'm off to Reno for the volleyball tournament.
a very well deserved 8 days away from my family.
and a cruel punisment of 10 hours in a car with my volleyball team.
so, this is probably the last post for a while...

and if any of you see me on the side of the I-90 with my thumb out....
dont just drive by.
