gary larson, raindrops, and dave barry
i'm sitting here, doing spanish flash cards on iFlash.
i just finished my current event on women being raped in Darfur.
before that, i went to volleyball practice, me and sara left early because
BEFORE practice, we had Hanukah.
we said the prayers. its a miracle i remember them from last year. i used to sing them all year long when i was little because they sounded pretty to me.
we lit the candles and gave presents. we try to spread out the presents every night.
tonight i got a hanging post-it in a shape of a dress from kim. its kind of hard to describe, but its cute.
we, as a family of crazed lunatics, bought a huge box of every Gary Larson comic every written since 1980. its in 2 huge volumes, leather bound with really glossy pages in a cool gift box.
my dad teased us before we unwrapped it and said it was to start off our encyclopedia collection.
he's wanted a full set for us since we were little. says he had a blast when he was young just flipping to random pages and reading weird words. i told him he could just google them now. and he sighs and mumbles.
i told him, if he's going to start an encyclopedia, give me the J Book. so i can look up something interesting to say when i'm forced to play the name game. he just sighs again.
so now i'm in my bike shorts and sweatshirt, typing this. and a headband with spinning things on it that sara gave me today. my knee pads are cutting off circulation in my thighs, but i wont pull them to my ankels because they're too warm. its raining out. i love the rain. i had a complete blow out today with my camera. i came home and it was pouring, so i went for a walk and took some amazing pics of clouds and rain. sara says my obsessions with rain and clouds arent weird, its just Julie.
i've done enough spainsih so i think i'll go upstairs and read some Dave Barry before bed.
